  1. To make widener and Lamont quiet music free and silent like a library should be.

What if widener library banned headphones, and loud typing and a designated area of quiet no noise at all even typing?
Ban all noise even computer typing on 3rd floor Lamont please?
And cut the noise down In the hallways of widener by everyone even the maintenance people and tourists and students.

    • Install sound-proof windows in the Loker Reading Room

Whenever there is a loud event in the yard, the sound penetrates the windows of the Loker Reading Room and work is disturbed. This could be prevented.

            • Allow recipients of overdue notices to respond to the e-message

I live in Maine. I recently returned a recall by way of Priority Mail, posted in plenty of time to arrive on time. But then I got a overdue notice a couple of days later. I replied to that message--which bounced, of course--suggesting that the Circulation folk watch the (snail) mails. If we could reply to a human being, instead of to a machine, then everyone would be more comfortable knowing that the process is going along as it should. Later on, if a machine charges me overdue fines, there'll be no way of sorting that out. We'll all be…

              • Fix the brown-out ghosting over the Liturgical MSs online listing...

....Don't know what's up with this very useful resource, but the first few pages have a light brown "cover" that's partially transparent (so I can still just barely make out the text) but very annoying!

I would guess it's an open code pair left from the background color code, or something like that, probably messed up when some system went from one format to another, as these things go.

Most obliged if this could be fixed; this listing is extremely important to those of us who work with medieval musical MSs (and many thanks, still, to T. Kelly all the…

                • either automatically redirect users or advise users when the PubMed proxy server address has changed

Recently the URL for the proxy server to PubMed has changed twice in approximately one month. At the time of this writing the advisory link at http://guides.library.harvard.edu/content.php?pid=238137&sid=2982891 is broken and returns a 404 error. It is challenging to try to track down the proxy server URL (presently http://www-ncbi-nlm-nih-gov.ezp-prod1.hul.harvard.edu/pubmed?holding=hulib). There could be a redirect page when the proxy server address changes. Or at least an address change notice.

Why is HOLLIS classic so, so slow? It is not my computer or connection! And not just now: almost always!

                      • HOLLIS filter for Currently Available books

Please give HOLLIS the ability to filter for books which are currently available for check-out. I had to click on seven different records of the book I wanted to find out which library had an available copy. Can you add a refine option to the right hand column which is "Available Now" or "On-Shelf"?

                            • An Automation Software for Selecting Books

The process of accessing a library through a portal is the base. In this context the digitised form of the book is segregated according to the importance and its relevance. The references and the book's critics have to made to be available to the reader at the very window the reader is reading. As well as reference available instant with choice of the book and the author and key words.

                                    • Get rid of exit-scanners

These exit-scanners do not speed up library exit lines but slow them down. The time it takes the guard to locate the bar code and the machine to register it is more than twice as long as it takes for the guard to check for the stamp.

                                      • make it easier to find the Harvard Archives, Map Collection, and other nearby offices

Thank you, Michelle, for using Tell Us to suggest improved signage in Lamont for directing users to Archives, Map Collection and other Pusey Library offices. We will leave your idea up for voting to gauge additional interest, then will send the suggestion on to Library operations staff. Thanks again for sharing your concern,
                                          Barbara
